Who we are
Chessmust is operated by the site owner named on the contact page.
What stays in your browser
Your language, theme, board settings, sound choice, the last unfinished game and your personal results are stored in your browser's local storage so that the site works the way you left it. This data is not sent to our servers. You can delete it at any time using “Clear local data” in the settings.
Playing with a friend
When you create or join an online game, your moves, the chosen time control and your connection address are processed by our game server only while the game runs, to connect you with the other player and to protect the service from abuse. Games are kept in the server's memory, are not written to a database and disappear shortly after the game ends. A secret seat token is stored in your browser so that you can return to your game.
What we do not collect
There are no accounts. We do not ask for your name or email address to play. We do not use fingerprinting. The moves of your games are not sent to advertising or analytics systems.
Advertising
The site is financed by advertising. Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads and, where you allow it, to personalize them. Where the law requires it, a certified consent platform asks for your choice before such technologies are used. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the “Privacy settings” link in the footer.
Analytics
To count visits we use two statistics services: Cloudflare Web Analytics (no cookies, no tracking across sites) and Yandex Metrica (uses cookies; records visits, page views and clicks). The moves of your games are not sent to them. The operator can switch these services off at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to withdraw consent. Because we hold no account data, most of your data is in your own browser. For questions, use the contact page.
Changes
If the purposes of data use change materially or new advertising partners are added, we will ask for your choice again.
