Create a game, copy the link and send it to a friend. When they open it, you both play on the same board in real time. It is free, needs no registration and works on phones, tablets and computers.
How it works
- Choose a game (chess, Chess960, Crazyhouse, checkers and more), the time control and your color.
- Press the button and copy the link that appears.
- Send the link to your friend in any messenger.
- The first person who opens the link takes the free seat and the game begins. Everyone else who opens it can only watch.
Free and open to everyone
Chessmust is free: no account, no download, no payment. Clocks are optional: choose 3+15, 5+15, 10+15 or 15+15 (minutes + seconds added after each move), or play without a clock. You can offer a draw, resign and play a rematch with swapped colors. If your connection drops, open the same link in the same browser and you return to your seat.
Questions and answers
Do we both need an account?
No. Nobody needs to register. The link is the invitation.
Can other people join my game?
Only one friend can take the second seat. Anyone else who opens the link can watch the game but cannot move.
What if I lose my connection?
Reopen the same link in the same browser. Your seat is kept. With a clock, your time keeps running, so return quickly.
How long does the link work?
While the game is going on and for a short time after it ends. Waiting games are removed after about an hour.
Which games can I play with a friend?
Chess, Chess960, King of the Hill, Three-check, Antichess, Atomic, Horde, Racing Kings, Crazyhouse and Russian checkers.
